CHRIST PROPHET AND PRIEST, Sunday November 23, 2008.

CHRIST PROPHET AND PRIEST, Sunday November 23, 2008.

Hebrews 4:14
"Therefore, since we have a great
high priest who has gone through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess."

Hebrews 1:1-4
1- "In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways,
2- but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe.
3-
The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.
4- So he became as much superior to the angels as the name he has inherited is superior to theirs."

Hebrews 7:24-27
24- "but because Jesus lives forever, he has a permanent priesthood.
25- Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.
26-Such a high priest meets our need—one who is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the heavens.
27- Unlike the other
high priests, he(JESUS CHRIST) does not need to offer sacrifices day after day, first for his own sins, and then for the sins of the people. He sacrificed for their sins once for all when he offered himself."

John 1:1
"In the beginning was the Word(JESUS CHRIST), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."

Acts 3:22
"For Moses said, 'The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet (JESUS CHRIST) like me from among your own people; you must listen to everything he tells you."

CONCLUSION
CHRIST WAS THE PRIEST THAT PRESENT THE OFFERING AND ALSO WAS THE PERFECT OFFERING BY OUR SINS.  HE IS AN
INTERCESSOR OR MEDIATOR BETWEEN GOD AND THE MEN.
CHRIST AS THE PRIEST CARRIES THE PETITIONS OF THE MEN TO GOD.  CHRIST WAS THE PERFECT PROPHET THAT HE BROUGHT US THE MESSAGE OF SALVATION OF GOD TO THE MANKIND.
THEREFORE THE TASK OF CHRIST AS THE PROPHET COMPLEMENT WITH THE PRIEST.

THE EXALTATION OF CHRIST, Sunday November 16, 2008.

THE EXALTATION OF CHRIST, Sunday November 16, 2008.

Mark 16:19
"After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them(disciples), he was taken up into heaven and he sat at the
right hand of God."

Philippians 2:5-11
5- "Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus:
6- Who, being in very
nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped,
7- but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.
8- And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death— even death on a cross!
9- Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name,
10- that at the
name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11- and every tongue confess that
Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."

Isaiah 53:3-5
3 "He(JESUS CHRIST) was despised and rejected by men,
      a
man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering.
Like one from whom men hide their faces
he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

4 Surely he took up our infirmities
      and carried our sorrows,
yet we considered him stricken by God,
      smitten by him, and afflicted.

5 But he was pierced for our transgressions,
      he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was upon him,
and by his wounds we are healed."

John 1:1
"In the beginning was the Word(JESUS
CHRIST), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."

John 8:5
24- "I(JESUS CHRIST) tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life.
25- I tell you the truth, a time is coming and has now come when the dead will hear the voice of the
Son of God and those who hear will live.
26- For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son to have life in himself.
27- And he has given him authority to judge because he is the
Son of Man
28- "Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice
29- and come out—those who have done good will rise to live, and those who have done evil will rise to be condemned."

Colossians 1:18
"And he(JESUS CHRIST) is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy."

CONCLUSION :
JESUS CHRIST LEFT HIS GLORY, SUFFERED FOR US AND AFTER HE WAS EXALTED AND  FROM HIS GLORY HE INTERCEDED FOR US.
JESUS CHRIST IS THE HEAD OF THE CHURCH, AND THE BODY OF THE CHURCH ARE THE BELIEVERS. THE CHURCH IS FRUIT OF THE
DEATH OF CHRIST IN THE CROSS.

THE RESURRECTION OF CHRIST, Sunday November 9, 2008.

THE RESURRECTION OF CHRIST, Sunday November 9, 2008.

"And if the Spirit of him(GOD) who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit, who lives in you."

1Corinthians 15:17
"And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins."

1Corinthians 15:12-14
12- "But if it is preached that Christ has been raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead?
13- If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised.
14- And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith."

John 14:19
"Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live."

John 11:25
"Jesus said ..., "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies;"

Acts 2:31-32
31- "Seeing what was ahead, he spoke of the resurrection of the Christ, that he was not abandoned to the grave, nor did his body see decay.
32- God has raised this Jesus to life, and we are all witnesses of the fact."

1Corinthians 15:20
"But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep"

Romans 4:25
"He (JESUS CHRIST) was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.

CONCLUSION
THE
DEATH OF JESUS CHRIST IN THE CROSS IS THE BASE OF OUR SALVATION, BUT ALSO THE RESURRECTION IS VERY IMPORTANT IN THE CHRISTIAN FAITH. CHRIST'S RESURRECTION IS THE POWER OVER THE SIN, DEATH AND CONDEMNATION.

THE CHARACTER OF CHRIST, Sunday October 26, 2008.

THE CHARACTER OF CHRIST , Sunday October 26, 2008.

John 10:25
"Jesus answered, "I did tell you, but you do not believe. The miracles I do in my Father's name speak for me,"

John 8:46
"Can any of you prove me(JESUS CHRIST) guilty of sin? If I am telling the truth, why don't you believe me?"

high priests, he(JESUS CHRIST) does not need to offer sacrifices day after day, first for his own sins, and then for the sins of the people. He sacrificed for their sins once for all when he offered himself.
28- For the law appoints as high priests men who are weak; but the oath, which came after the law, appointed the Son, who has been made perfect forever."

Matthew 9:36
"When he(JESUS CHRIST) saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd."

Philippians 2:8
"And being found in appearance as a man, he(JESUS CHRIST) humbled himself and became obedient to death— even death on a cross!"

Matthew 11:29
"Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I(JESUS CHRIST) am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls."

CONCLUSION
THE BIBLE SPEAKS OF THE CHARACTER OF CHRIST, IT IS ON HIS MORAL QUALITIES AND HIS GLORIOUS GREATNESS.  HE WAS IRREPROACHABLE, LACKING OF DEFECTS IN EACH AREA OF HIS PERSON AND IN HIS WORKS.  WE HAVE TO ASK IN OUR PRAYERS BY THE CHARACTER OF CHRIST AND IT SHOULD BE OUR YEARNING.

TWO NATURES AND ONE PERSON , Sunday October 19, 2008.

TWO NATURES AND ONE PERSON , Sunday October 19, 2008.

Colossians 2:9
"For in Christ all the fullness of the
Deity lives in bodily form,"

John 1:14
"
The Word (JESUS CHRIST) became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth."

Hebrews 5:7
"During the days of Jesus' life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions with loud cries and tears to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission."

Philippians 2:5-8
5- Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus:
6- Who, being in very
nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped,
7- but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.
8- And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death— even death on a cross!"

Hebrews 4:15
"For we do not have a
high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one(JESUS CHRIST) who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet was without sin.'

Ephesians 5:1-2
1- "Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children
2- and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God."

CONCLUSION
THE EXISTENCE OF TWO NATURES (DIVINE AND HUMAN) OF JESUS CHRIST IS A MYSTERY.  IT  IS NOT NATURAL AND IT CAN NOT BE EXPLAINED COMPLETELY.  CHRIST IS UNIQUE.  HE HAD
DIVINE MIND AND HUMAN MIND, HE HAD DIVINE WILL AND HUMAN WILL, AND ONLY JESUS COULD DISCERN AND ACT WITH THE ASSISTANCE OF THE SPIRIT OF GOD.
