THE CROSS OF CHRIST AND SANCTIFICATION - Sunday March 22, 2009.


Please read Romans 6:1-23

Romans 6:6
"For we know that our old self was crucified with Him(JESUS CHRIST) so that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin."

Romans 7:18-19
18- "I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature.
For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out.
19- For what I do is not the good I want to do; no, the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing."

Romans 6:4
"We were therefore buried with him(JESUS CHRIST) through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through theglory of the Father, we too may live a new life."

Romans 6:20, 23
20- "When you were slaves to sin, you were free from the control of righteousness.
23- For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Galatians 5:22-23
22- "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
23- gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law."

CONCLUSION
THE VICTORIOUS CHRISTIAN LIFE IS BASED ON THE BLESSED CROSS OF CHRIST THAT BROUGHT US THE VICTORY OVER THE SIN, AND THE RESURRECTION OF CHRIST OUR SAVIOR, TO LIVE US A NEW LIFE PURE, STRAIGHT AND HOLY IN FRONT OF GOD.
THEREFORE, THE CHILDREN OF GOD SHOULD NOT OBEY TO THE SIN THAT WAS CONQUERED BY THE WORK OF CHRIST IN THE CROSS.
THIS NEW CHRISTIAN CHARACTER, OUR SANTIFICATION, IS FRUIT OF THE WORK OF CHRIST IN THE CROSS AND THE HOLY SPIRIT OF GOD WHO HELPED US TO SURPASS THE LARGE DIFFICULTIES THAT WE HAVE TO FACE DAILY. AND WE SHOULD GROW IN THE AFFIRMATION OF THESE SPIRITUAL VIRTUES IN OUR HEART.
